Is the Nintendo 3DS Black Screen of Death a Major Problem?
The Nintendo 3DS was just recently launched for sale at electronic retailers and although it's received raving reviews from gaming critics, it still has one major issue; the 3DS black Screen of Death. How big of a problem is the 3DS Black Screen of Death.
Thousands of fans flocked to electronic retailers and gamins stores on Sunday March, 27th 2011 to get their hands on the magical Nintendo 3DS and while most gamers rushed home and started enjoying their new gadget, some could only enjoy Nintendo's new toy before running into a major problem that has been dubbed at the 3DS Black Screen of Death.
While playing popular 3DS games like Monkey Ball and Street Fighter, hundreds of 3DS owners have reported black screen crashes with an error instructing them to "Hold down the power Button to turn off the power... and try again" and to contact customer support if the problem persists. When the news of the 3DS Black Screen of death (BSoD) hit the internet - and with a name a scary as Black Screen of "Death" - the BSoD problem has likely been blown out of proportion seeing how the problem only plagued a small portion of those that bought the new 3DS at launch and isn't a widespread problem.
Electronics very rarely launch without a few hiccups here and there and although the 3DS Black Screen of Death isn't as widespread of a problem as the internet would make it seem, it's still a bummer for those that bought the new console in hopes of enjoying their favorite games. Nintendo acknowledged the BSoD problem and have already released a system update that'll easily remedy the problem of the consoles crashing issues.
If you already own a 3DS and fear the BSoD crashes, are waiting to purchase a 3DS until after the problem has rectified, or are already experiencing the problem and having issues with it, you can simply update to the latest software for the 3DS and all of your worries would be washed away. Although the 3DS Black Screen of Death seems like a major issue with Nintendo's console and sounds like something that will kill the person playing it, it's now virtually inexistent now that Nintendo has responded in kind.
